14 Months

At her checkup today, Sophie weighed 10.4 kg (23 lbs) and measured 81 cm (32"). On the French charts, she is average for weight but is at the top of the chart for height. I plugged her numbers into a U.S. percentile calculator, and she is between the 50 and 75 percentiles for weight and between 90 and 95 percentiles for height! If she keeps up like this, she will be tall like her Grandpa Dan and Grandmère Jacqueline. She says "woo" (woof) for a dog and "ba" for a ball. I asked her if I could measure her foot and she lifted one up for me! She signs "milk" when she wants some and loves drinking out of a straw. She loves to run now and giggles when we chase her.

Pool Fun

OK, so she's not IN the pool. But the pool is nearby . . . (she's carrying some seat cushions.)

Turtle Pillow

When I went in to check Sophie this night, I found her asleep with her head using the body of the turtle as a pillow:

There is a creek that runs down the middle of Noel's property and they have a rowboat with a motor so Sophie went boating for the first time! She did have fun, despite the expression on her face. Noel's wife Regine is next to us.

Unsurprisingly, the weather on the 4th was iffy. Since I'd planned for Sophie to wear a sleeveless sunsuit, I threw a long sleeve tee underneath and could not resist the striped legwarmers to keep her delicious legs warm:
